Message from the Secretary

Dr. S. Balamurugan
Hony. Secretary, Association of Pulmonologists of Tamilnadu (APT)

Dear Colleagues and Members of APT,

It is my privilege to welcome you to the official website of the Association of Pulmonologists of Tamil Nadu (APT), a professional community united by our commitment to advancing respiratory medicine and improving lung health.

APT has always served as a platform for academic excellence, professional development, scientific exchange and fellowship among pulmonologists across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. As respiratory medicine continues to evolve, our responsibility extends beyond clinical practice to encompass research, innovation, medical education and public health.

Our vision is to foster a vibrant academic community that promotes evidence-based clinical practice, encourages collaborative research, facilitates continuous learning and supports the professional growth of pulmonologists at every stage of their careers. We are particularly committed to nurturing young pulmonologists and postgraduate trainees by providing opportunities for learning, mentorship, scientific presentation and professional networking

Through conferences, continuing medical education programmes, workshops and collaborative initiatives, APT strives to bridge the gap between scientific advances and everyday clinical practice. We also recognise the importance of strengthening public awareness, promoting preventive respiratory health and addressing the growing burden of respiratory diseases in our communities.

This website is intended to be a dynamic resource for our members—a space to stay informed about academic activities, access professional updates, discover opportunities for collaboration and strengthen our collective engagement.

I invite every member to actively participate in our initiatives, share ideas, contribute to our academic endeavours and help shape the future of our Association.

Together, let us advance respiratory science, strengthen our professional bonds and make a meaningful difference to the lives of the patients we serve.

With best wishes,
Dr. S. Balamurugan
